Bank Strike in India,16,500 cr clearance affected!

Whenever a bank strike occurs there is a big stop to so many daily transactions! The banks were already closed on 13th March 2021 and they have not reopened yet, resulting in to stop to all daily bank transactions. Services such as deposits and withdrawal at branches, cheque clearance, and loan approvals are being affected due to the strike. But ATM is functional that's a relief. This strike is called by the United Forum of Bank Union. It is excepted to have 10 lakh bank employees to participate in the strike. Total nine bank unions have taken part in this strike namely: -

1.All India Bank Officers' Confederation (AIBOC)
2.All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA)
3.National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE)
4.All India Bank Officers' Confederation (AIBOC)
5.Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI)
6.Indian National Bank Employees Federation (INBEF)
7.Indian National Bank Officers' Congress (INBOC)
8.National Organisation of Bank Officers (NOBO)
9.National Organisation of Bank Workers (NOBW)
The clearance of 2 crore cheques or other credit instruments is affected worth Rs.16,500 crores.

The strike is to oppose the proposed privatization of two public sector banks(PSB) under the government's disinvestment plan under the Union Budget of 2021 introduced by our Finance Ministry. The names of 2 public sector banks are not announced. The government has already privatized IDBI(Industrial development bank of India) by selling its majority of stake in the lender to LIC in 2019 and has merged 14 public sectors banks in the last four years.
Thank You!
